Turtle Run in Chania: Lace up your running shoes and get ready!
On September 7th, 2025, Caldera Creta Paradise in collaboration with ARCHELON is organizing the charitable “Turtle Run”, an event dedicated to the protection of the Loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta).
The event includes two routes: a fun 5-kilometer route along the beach and a shorter 500-meter route for children under the age of 12. Join us for other activities too, including children’s games, face painting, and an infromative presentation about sea turtles. The evening will end with an after party hosted at Caldera Creta Paradise.
All participants will receive a participation ribbon, while the winnerswill have the opportunity to win great prizes, such as two nights with breakfast for two at Caldera Creta Paradise or Minoa Palace Resort. Refreshments will be provided along the route, while at the finish-line, runners can enjoy healthy snacks from Sandbar. Lafkas Brewery will provide beers ( including non-alcoholic) and a special limited-edition seasonal brew.
The event is aimed at runners of all ages and fitness levels, offering the opportunity to combine exercise, fun, and environmental awareness. All proceeds will be donated to ARCHELON for the sea turtle conservation project in Chania.

Health & Safety The Turtle Run will take place on the beach, on sandy terrain and under warm weather conditions. There will be water and electrolyte stations, volunteers and first aid along the route. Participation is at your own risk and a basic level of fitness is recommended.
The Turtle Run is a unique opportunity for participants to combine sports with giving back to nature, actively supporting the protection of one of the most iconic marine species in the Mediterranean.
