Internships & Research opportunities
Internships are welcomed by ARCHELON for a set of tasks relating to the role of field leaders and a different set of tasks relating to full time volunteers.
A limited number of internships is available for the role of field leaders on nesting beaches & rehabilitation assistants at the Rescue Centre.
Candidates should follow the application procedure in the Field Leaders page, indicating that if selected, they plan to ask for an internship through their University/ Educational Institution. When accepted, they must send the required University documents to the relevant Project Officer.
Interns in the role of field leaders receive specialized and necessary training to perform their tasks. There is no participation fee. For more information on the field leader profiles and how to apply, see here.

Environmental field internship
Develop skills in biological and environmental practises on the sea turtle nesting beaches and experience in fieldwork and communication. It takes place during the summer months at the ARCHELON Research Stations in Zakynthos, Kyparissia bay, Lakonikos bay, Rethymno, Chania, Messara bay and the Amvrakikos Gulf.
Develop skills in communication, in doing tours, presentations and events for the public about sea turtles, nature, the environment, sustainable development and climate change. It takes place during the summer months in the ARCHELON programs in Zakynthos, Kyparissia bay, Lakonikos bay, Rethymno, Chania, and Messara bay.
Rescue and Care Network Project of the ARCHELON Sea Turtle Rescue Centre
Develop skills in the rehabilitation of sea turtles, communication, public awareness. This internship takes place in the ARCHELON Sea Turtle Rescue Centre in Glyfada, Attica.
Opportunities for research
ARCHELON's projects offer possibilities for research to undergraduate and postgraduate students or postdoctoral researchers, which must be organized during their participation as volunteers. Only volunteers from previous years in the ARCHELON projects can submit a research proposal. The application deadline is March 15 each year.
