The protection of the Loggerhead Sea turtles in Laganas Bay, Zakynthos, Greece during 2015
This short report, submitted to the European Commission and the Standing Committee of the Bern Convention, presents the major events concerning sea turtle conservation on Zakynthos Island, Greece, during 2015.
Specifically, this report presents the ARCHELON’s field project and the work of the Management Agency of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos (NMPZ), as well as the actual situation at the nesting beaches and the protected marine area during the nesting season 2015, as recorded through the field project of ARCHELON. Finally the recommendations of ARCHELON are listed for the improvement of the conservation status of the nesting habitat.
