New Place in the Rescue Center for Exhibitions and Presentations
On June 14th 2005, a new visitor area was inaugurated in the Rescue Center. The space includes a new photo exhibition of sea turtles, as well as modern technological equipment with audiovisual material, which will be very useful for public awareness. The inauguration took place under the sunset and was accompanied by music from the nesting areas of sea turtles. Guided tours were performed around the tanks with the turtles, where people had the opportunity to have a look at the turtles.
Moreover, a presentation of special transmitters for satellite tracking was made.
Present at the event were the Special Councilor of the General Secretariat for Youth, Mr. Fotis Nestoras, the Directress of Developmental Initiatives of the General Secretariat for Youth Mrs Maria Papaioannou, officers of the Environmental Ecology and Eco-development Department, many Councillors of Glyfadas\' Municipality, the former Mayor of Glyfada (one of the Rescue Center founders) Mr. Theodoros Spondylides, as well as many other members and of ARCHELON.
It was an exceptional evening.
