From the far-away Ereikousa
So, with the help of a friend, he sent it to Corfuʼs Port Police on a boat. The people from Corfuʼs Port Authority placed it in a proper box and dispatched it to the Archelonʼs Sea Turtles Rescue Center in Glyfada.
On March 10, at 6 am, Athina Tsekoura collected the small turtle from the Bus Station to the Rescue Center for treatment.
The young Caretta caretta, has a shell of 27 cm in length and weights only 2 kilos; naturally it was named after the man who found it, “Mamoukas”!
We really hope the nursing care pays off and by the summer time it will swim in the deep blue sea healthy and free again!
