Again this year ARCHELON is present at Thessalonikiʼs Documentary Festival
The case of the Dalmatian Pelican – the fourth animal featured in the film– is quite a different one: after successful measures for the protection and management of its habitat in Northern Greece, this birdʼs population has been restored to an impressive degree. The episode is in four parts and there is no narration. Each animalʼs habitat is presented by a young child (between 8 and 10 years of age), who interviews the environmental scientists working for its protection.
Filmed on the islands of Milos and Crete, in the village of Nymphaeon, on Mount Hasia and the Prespes Lakes, the Greek episode tries to help young viewers become better acquainted with the wealth of Greek nature and the passion of the people who work in environmental protection programs.
