Wishes of Hope at ARCHELONʼs Program Presentation Event on 14/2/17
For most people, Valentine’s Day is a day for lovers, but for the people of ARCHELON, it’s a day dedicated to the love for sea turtles and our work to protect them. It is also a day to acknowledge and reward the volunteers who contribute their efforts to achieving our goals, both in the field and in the Rescue Centre.
The bookstore’s loft was filled with happy, expectant, proud, and devoted faces as members of the ARCHELON staff presented reports on their work and informed the guests about all the crucial work done by volunteers during 2016 in all project areas.
Volunteers, supporters, members and associates, together with the ARCHELON staff, shared their experiences and the problems that occurred during the past year. Different opinions were heard and questions were answered in the discussion that followed.
A cheerful touch was added to the atmosphere by the presentation of awards to six remarkable volunteers who have been faithful helpers and supporters in all our efforts, offering their full assistance and their valuable time and energy, always with a smile and good mood wherever they participated! As part of the award ceremony, a symbolic gift of appreciation was presented to: Dionysis Arvanitakis, Joanne Stournara, Jane Mantarakis, Irene Kasimatis, Phil Miller, and John Brinkman.
The lucky coin was won by an original “turtler”, Mr. Dimitris Margaritoulis, the founder of ARCHELON!
