The amputated “Margarita”

In winter, on December 12th, we received "Margarita" who was found on the beach of Cheronissi in Yialtra, Evia. It is the third turtle that comes to us from that area.

The Port Police of Edipsos took care of its careful collection and safe transport until she was received by the members of ARCHELON and its rescue network.

Caretta “Margarita” weighs 500gr and its curved shell is just 17cm in length. The sad fact is that of her missing front – left wing and therefore she has great difficulty to dive.

Caretta “Margarita”, like the other 17 turtles hosted in the Rescue Center of Sea Turtles at the 3rd Marina of Glyfada, enjoy the daily care and attention of the veterinarian and volunteers of ARCHELON who come from all over the world (Sweden, Austria, Netherlands, Finland, Brazil, Germany, Greece).

The turtles that are treated have daily needs in medicine and food. With 5 euros per day each of us can support their care.

Adopt an injured turtle hosted in the Rescue Center.
