Kids Turtle Festival 2026 "In Deep Water"
The ARCHELON Sea Turtle Rescue Centre opens its doors on June 13, when we celebrate World Turtle Day, and invites young and old to this year's Kids Turtle Festival 2026 "In Deep Water".
This year, the little explorers will follow a loggerhead sea turtle that spent the winter in the Adriatic Sea, feeding on shells and mussels. Now it begins its long journey back to Kyparissia Bay, the beach where it was born, to create the new generation of turtles. Along the journey, the turtle will cross hundreds of nautical miles, following sea currents and will encounter dolphins, whales, seals, seabirds and green turtles.
The children, with the help of ARCHELON staff and volunteers, will take on the role of a marine explorer. Along the journey we have prepared, there are stations with various activities, so that the explorers can get to know turtles and other marine animals, and learn about the need to protect them from the threats they face.

The Festival includes:
- Route with creative activities and interactive games with audiovisual media
- Tour of the Rescue Centre, where everyone will see the sea turtles that are hospitalized up close
- Live connection with the ARCHELON research team in Kyparissia Bay, to see the first nest of the summer
The Turtle Festival is a unique opportunity for children to connect with nature, to learn about the protection of the marine environment and to live an unforgettable educational experience through play.
See you there!
