ARCHELON participates in the "Science Festival 2025 – The Voice of the Ocean"

“The most important place on earth is not on land, but at sea.” These words from the documentary Ocean with David Attenborough remind us the ocean's importance for all life on Earth. Ten years after the Paris Agreement (COP21), 2025 was declared the “Year for the Sea and the Ocean” in France, highlighting their crucial role in addressing the climate crisis.

In this context, the French Institute of Greece is organizing a celebration from 10 to 27 November 2025 dedicated to science and the ocean, whose exploration and protection are major challenges of the 21st century. The organizer of the 2025 Science Festival is Evi Nomikou, Professor of Physical Geography and Geological Oceanography at the National University of Athens.

ARCHELON participates in the Festival with two activities dedicated to the protection of the marine environment.

World premiere of the LIFE MareNatura documentary ARCHELON participated in the filming of the documentary “LIFE MareNatura”, which will be screened for the first time worldwide on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 7:00 PM, at the French Institute of Greece. An impressive documentary follows modern research into the vulnerable marine ecosystems of the Mediterranean. From seabird monitoring and genetic sampling, to unique underwater footage of marine mammals, the testimonies of scientists bring to life the hidden stories of the sea. Captivating, it captures the battle to protect our common blue heritage.
