ARCHELON cut the New Year Pie for 2011
Each year, on the last Sunday of January, we get together to cut the New Year Pie. We all declare our presence to this established event, not as a ceremonial obligation, but as a joyful gathering. It is simply a desire to re-unite, share our thoughts and dreams, set our common goals for the present and future. For a better new year!!
The Societyʼs Administrative Board members, friends, supporters and of course volunteers all responded to our invitation!!
The cutting of the Pie was made by Dr. Dimitrios Dimopoulos, President of the A.B. and the lucky coin happily occurred in the piece of Anthoula Toyia, the Environmental Education Officer of ARCHELON.
“All of us here at ARCHELON strongly believe in the grandness in volunteer service. Because volunteering means faith, but also resistance to the settling aspect of “living well”. Volunteering consists of respect, integrity, mutual dependence, principles, equality and justice. Over 500 volunteers prove their loyalty by joining our programs each year, while members and friends of the Society support our work and efforts” as Mr. Theodoros Benos-Palmer, the Director of ARCHELON emphasized in his speech.
