And the lucky coin was found by... our volunteers!
Itʼs a long-established tradition for ARCHELON to celebrate the cutting of the New Year cake (Bassilopitta) in accordance with Greek cultural legacy.
This yearʼs lucky ones are our Volunteers who won the piece of the cake with the lucky coin (known as “flouri”) placed inside!
Letʼs not forget that the year 2008 has been a landmark in the history of our Society since we celebrated our 25 years of continuous operation, action and efforts for the rescue and saving of sea turtles.
While the day had started off with a beautiful sunshine, later, rainy clouds appeared in the sky and the heavy rainfall that followed obstructed the proper presentation of the new Intensive Care facilities to our guests and friends! No worries, we will do this soon!
And even though the lucky coin was found by the Rescue Centre Volunteers, we all got our own gift: the lovely 2009 Turtle-Charm!
