Visit The Sea Turtle Rescue Centre
Take a tour of the rescue center facilities, where we care for either injured or sick sea turtles. The turtles are treated and rehabilitated within the facilities, where we also arrange for their their safe return to the sea.
Educational visits
Educational visits are available, upon reservation, for schools of all levels as well as student groups, during the school year.
Visit a nesting beach
If you are near the beaches of Rethymno, Ilia, Messinia, or Lakonikos, you can join our volunteers for a guided walk on a nesting beach! This activity is available by reservation for small groups (up to 2 adults and 4 children per booking) who adopt a sea turtle (€50). The walk follows a specific route and takes place at scheduled times daily. It lasts approximately 30–45 minutes and includes information about sea turtles and their protection on nesting beaches.
Public Nest Excavations
Towards the end of summer, ARCHELON volunteers perform nest excavations to collect scientific data, usually two weeks after the nest has hatched. People of all ages can witness this process firsthand and discover the secrets of sea turtles. If you are in the Peloponnese or Crete during August and September, check our weekly schedule and meet us on the beach.
