Please note that participation can be only arranged for full weeks, starting from the day you will take up duties. The date of arrival to the project site is one day prior to the participation date and the date of departure from the project is one day after the last day of your participation.

Our cancellation policy

A. Up to 12 weeks from the confirmed date of participation, a notification must be sent by e-mail to volunteers@archelon.gr: a full refund of the volunteer fee paid minus banking costs will be made

B. Up to 8 weeks from the confirmed date of participation, a notification must be sent by e-mail to volunteers@archelon.gr: a cancellation fee of 10% on the volunteer fee paid will be applied to refunding, for covering administrative costs

C. Up to 4 weeks from the confirmed date of participation, a notification must be sent by e-mail to volunteers@archelon.gr: we will refund 20% of the volunteer fee paid

D. If the notification is sent in less than 4 weeks from the confirmed date of participation, no refund is possible.

E. In cases of a volunteer not showing up on the first day of participation or departing before the last day of participation, no refund is possible.

F. As an exception to the above, if the notification for cancellation is sent by e-mail to volunteers@archelon.gr, anytime up to 8 weeks from the confirmed date of participation, with proof that the cancellation is due to the COVID-19 pandemic (e.g. cancellation of confirmed flights, local lockdowns, illness or positive test results, etc), we will refund 50% of the volunteer fee paid.

Change of participation dates

A minor change of participation dates is allowed ONCE free of charge, before the payment of volunteer participation fees. If a significant change of dates is requested after the payment of fees, the terms of cancellation policy will be applied as appropriate

Extensions of stay: Any request for extending an already agreed period of participation within the same season/ year should be submitted by a new application. Once approved, the fee will be adjusted to cover accommodation costs calculated as 30€/week for the summer projects and 100€/week for the Rescue Centre.

In case of sickness by COVID-19 prior to the arrival in the project: If a notification is sent by email to volunteers@archelon.gr proving that the volunteer cannot travel in the confirmed dates, we will invite them to re-schedule as soon as possible. A renewed medical certificate will be needed before he/she is admitted again in the project.
