Glyfada - Sea Turtle Rescue Centre
Come join us at the Sea Turtle Rescue Centre. You will have a direct experience with these wonderful creatures of the sea. You can help with their care, rehabilitation and release back to the sea as a volunteer or an intern.
Duration: participation of volunteers is throughout the year

The Peloponnese – Lakonikos Bay
Become a volunteer and save the sea turtles and their nests on the nesting beaches of Lakonikos Bay.

Join us in the Zakynthos National Marine Park to monitor and protect one of the most important nesting areas of the Loggerhead sea turtle in the Mediterranean.

A unique opportunity to participate in research, have direct contact with sea turtles in the sea and to detect reproductive activity in western Greece.

Overview projects & fees
The participation of volunteers is declared only in weeks, starting from the day duties start. This means that if for example the participation is agreed to start on a Tuesday, it will end on a Monday, 3 or more weeks later. However, the day of arrival in the project is always the day before the start of participation and the day of departure is the day after the last day of participation.

Our cancellation policy

Up to 12 weeks from the confirmed date of participation, a notification must be sent by e-mail to volunteers@archelon.gr: a full refund of the volunteer fee paid minus banking costs will be made

Up to 8 weeks from the confirmed date of participation, a notification must be sent by e-mail to volunteers@archelon.gr: a cancellation fee of 10% on the volunteer fee paid will be applied to refunding, for covering administrative costs

Up to 4 weeks from the confirmed date of participation, a notification must be sent by e-mail to volunteers@archelon.gr: we will refund 20% of the volunteer fee paid

If the notification is sent in less than 4 weeks from the confirmed date of participation, no refund is possible.

In cases of a volunteer not showing up on the first day of participation or departing before the last day of participation, no refund is possible.

The same cancelation policy applies if there is a combination of projects.
Change of participation dates
A minor change of participation dates is allowed ONCE free of charge, before the payment of volunteer participation fees. If a significant change of dates is requested after the payment of fees, the terms of cancellation policy will be applied as appropriate.
Extensions of stay: Any request for extending an already agreed period of participation within the same season/ year should be submitted by a new application. Once approved, the fee will be adjusted to cover accommodation costs calculated as 30€/week for the summer projects and 100€/week for the Rescue Centre.
