ARCHELON's education officer during a school visit at the Sea turtle rescue centre

Online Tour (for Schools Outside Attica)

For schools outside of Attica, an online tour of the Rescue Centre is available.

Our online tours are now structured into 4 stages to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of sea turtles and ARCHELON's work.

  1. You will receive a link to ARCHELON's educational materials and presentation guidelines through a webinar that you will watch at your own time.
  2. You will then process the educational material in class through discussion and reflection.
  3. Finally, you will gather your students' questions about the Rescue Centre and ARCHELON's work.
  4. We will then connect live and answer your questions through a virtual tour of the facility and an introduction to the sea turtles undergoing treatment and their stories.

DETAILS

The online tour is designed for all school levels, from kindergarten to high school. A class or multiple classes from the same grade can participate, as long as the number of students does not exceed 50.

By participating in the program (3€ per child), students undertake a "symbolic sea turtle adoption", supporting the costs of rehabilitation and feeding of sea turtles at the Rescue Centre.

Upon completion of the adoption, students will receive the ARCHELON plush turtle, an adoption certificate, and an audiovisual presentation of the adopted turtle.

Students who receive the plush turtle toy are invited to create an animation video titled "Rescue Mission", featuring the little turtle.

PARTICIPATION INSTRUCTIONS

Here you will find detailed step-by-step instructions for participating in the online tours of the ARCHELON Rescue Centre. The English version will be available on the 22/11/24.
